Counseling Topics:
This month, our whole group guidance lesson is on Careers.  We are discussing what careers are.   We all have jobs to do at school and at home.  We are learning that if we do not do our job then there are consequences.  We are learning that some jobs require you to wear a uniform and other jobs do not.  We are learning that you use different tools to perform different jobs, also.  Tools are used to make our job easier, help us perform better and quicker.   All jobs have responsibilities and all jobs are important.

February Newsletter

Counseling Topics:

This month, our whole group guidance lesson is on Cultural Diversity.  I am reading the book The Colors of Us, and we are discussing individual differences.

In the book, we find out that we are all a shade of brown, and we all have the same feelings on the inside.  Therefore, we must treat everyone the same and abide by the “Golden Rule”— Treat others the way you would want to be treated.

Talk to your child about  how they might treat others with respect.

Character Word Focus:  Fairness and Honesty
Fairness– treat others with equanimity and impartiality
Honesty– truthful, sincere, and straightforward
Please discuss with your child about being fair and honest.
