Counseling Topics for January
This month our whole group guidance lesson is on Conflict Resolution. A conflict is an argument, disagreement, and/or fight that you have with someone. In the video, Working It Out, the students learn the six steps to solving conflicts: Stop, Ask Questions, Talk about It, Listen to Each Other, Think of Ideas, and Make a Deal(Apologize).
Our Character Words of Focus: Citizenship and Loyalty
Citizenship- You take responsibility for what goes on in your community, state, and/or country.
Loyalty- You are reliable, follow through on commitments.
A Special Thank You! I would like to Thank all who donated coats, jackets, mittens, and/or gloves to The One Coat Campaign. Your generosity was greatly appreciated and we were able to warm the hearts of many.
Upcoming Program Training
The Incrediable Years, a Parent-Child Group Training Program, is being offered through the Child Advocacy Center. This program is free and open to all parents with children ages 3-8 who are experiencing cooperation issues. Childcare is provided for younger siblings.
Parents learn how to handle misbehavior, set limits, praise and reward your child, and more.
The children will learn how to do their best in school, learn to follow rules, understand feelings, problem solve, and more.
