Monthly Topics:
In September, I read Miss Nelson is Missing and Howard B. Wigglebottom. We learned about the importance of being good listeners. We discussed good listening tips. Our good listening tips are: be quiet, hands in lap, look at speaker, listen to speaker, sit criss-cross, sit still, and raise hand and wait patiently for your turn. In order to learn, you must be able to listen and observe what the speaker is saying and doing.
In October, the guidance lesson will be on making healthy choices. I will be reading Mariko Wears Her Thinking Cap. We will discuss ways to be healthy: eating healthy foods, exercising, getting plenty of rest, and making wise decisions.
Please encourage your child to eat healthy, exercise, get plenty of rest and make wise decisions.
Character Education Focus:
Our character education words for the month are caring and compassion. Please encourage your child to be empathetic toward others’ feelings and to work well together with their friends.
